NEXT CHAPTER MEETING – 2 DEC

Posted: November 25, 2010 in Uncategorized
Fellow Toasties!
Thanks for making today’s (25th Nov) meeting a success!
With common tests round the corner, we have come to final chapter meeting before our study break.
2 Dec 10, Thursday, shall be the FINAL chapter meeting for November and this term. The next meeting after that will be 23 Dec 10 (for a spunky Christmas celebration – but more details on that next time).

We would like to announce that there will be NO debate during the next chapter meeting. Instead we will have a forum about the chosen motion. We want everyone to contribute ideas. Leading the forum will be Victoria Secret Angel, Gurion Ang. We will have speeches, evaluations and table topics as usual.
For the forum, we will discuss the topic: “Has education contributed to anti-social behaviour?“.
Here are some reading materials for your perusal for your interest before next week.
Find out more first: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-social_behaviour

SpeechCraft Winners!

Posted: July 7, 2010 in Uncategorized

The effort was all worth it! After 2 months of hard work, the Ngee Ann Poly Students Toastmasters Club has done it again! SpeechCraft 2010 was indeed a much bigger and grander event as compared to its previous installments. It was a night full of learning, suspense and entertainment as contestants from the Freshman and Open Category put their oratorical skills to the test. This year’s SpeechCraft was held in LT 68E. We were gladly graced with the presence of the Immediate Past Division D Govenor, Quek Geok Cheng, Miss Irene Lupton,  Mr Aaron Vogt, Mr Keith Wong and Ms Clarice who were the judges.

A big, warm CONGRATULATIONS!!! to all our winners!

Thank You Also Miss Rajoo, our club Mentor!

Freshman: 1st- Aaron Azhari, 2nd- Dang Duy Minh Quan, 3rd- Cheryl Tan

Open: 1st- Andrea Williams, 2nd- Debby Marshall, 3rd- Jian Hui

Last but certainly not least, a zillion hugs and kisses to our beloved Mr Gurion Ang, one of the club’s Founders who will be embarking on his studies in Australia in due time. Gurion has been a great driver of the NPSTMC and has nurtured many speakers in their hopes to become more proficient Public Speakers. The club wishes Gurion the best in his future undertakings.

Another chapter has closed, yet many remain unread. Let SpeechCraft be a tremendous stepping stone to launch ourselves into dynamic and progressive individuals who may mature into prolific, engaging and inspiring speakers in the near future.

Hey Everyone!

We are sure everyone is anxiously waiting for the biggest speech showdown in Ngee Ann Poly! Indeed, this year the competition seems more hyped up and interesting with the introduction of the Freshmen Category and the bigger pool of participants this year.

NPSTMC is all geared up and ready to make SpeechCraft a much bigger, bolder and

Its Gonna be BIG BABY!

more  publicized event. Hence, do invite all your family members, friends or associates to come down to the finals on 1 July. As compared to last year, this time SpeechCraft will be held in LT 68E and not ISPARK- a grander stage for flaunting your skills.

Its about time we finally crown the next SpeechCraft winner in all its glitz and glamor. But hey guys, at the end of the day its never JUST about winning, its about forging close companions, getting to know yourself and polishing your self-confidence. The Ngee Ann Polytechnic Student Toastmasters Club was always a conducive platform for anyone of any caliber to hone their innate skills and it shall stay that way. Anyone can grow into the great speaker they envision themselves to be. Take this opportunity by the horns and go FULL OUT :D
